Food Service and Hospitality
During my freshman year I chose Food Service & Hospitality as my career path way. In the food service path way I had lots of fun. Throughout this path way there was three classes I took. This path way offers Intro to Food Service, Foods & Nutrition, and Food service & Hospitality.
In my intro to food service we learned about expectations in the kitchen. It also introduced kitchen tools. In food intro to food service we would have very little on hands activities. We learned how to split different jobs up in the kitchen with our kitchen group.
Foods & Nutrition taught us about different foods and the nutrients inside them. In foods & nutrition we learn how to create meal plans and we were also given the chance to learn how to track our eating habits online. Foods & Nutrition prepared us for Food Service & Hospitality so we had more cooking labs.
My last class for this career pathway was Food Service & Hospitality. Throughout Food Service & Hospitality I had many more cooking labs and hands on with the kitchen tools. In this Food Service & Hospitality class you also learn about how to do proper table set ups for a fancy restaurant.
In conclusion Food Service & Hospitality was a really good pathway for me but I realized it isn't something I would like to pursue in the future. I would recommend this pathway for someone that has high interest in a culinary arts career.
